Back Story:

I found myself in the back seat of my best friend Sophia’s car. The horror that was going on outside was just completely unbearable. I didn’t even understand what was going on… people were… dying… and then coming back… and then eating… each other… and that process just kept on going. It was just unbelievable. I turned to my right to look at Sophia, her eyes were widened and I could hear her heart beat. Her mother, Carol was sitting in the passenger seat whilst her father, Ed was driving us to Atlanta. I just wish I could go back to the moment where this wasn’t happening… I was supposed to be spending the night with Sophia when this started. The thing that’s most frightening to me, is that I couldn’t go back home… Ed wouldn’t drive me back to my home. It was either go with them or walk home, I wish I knew if my parents were alive.. and my little brothers. Carol disagreed with that completely but she does whatever Ed says… she’s afraid of him… Sophia also. I am to, though I hate the way he treats his wife and little girl… it’s awful… I know what goes on between them all. He treats them like they’re nothing. As we were driving Carol looked back at us with sympathetic eyes
“Girls, are you okay?”
“Mom what’s happening..?” Sophia whimpered
“I… I don’t know sweetie… we’ll be okay though” Carol tried to reassure us
Carol turned back around and sat firmly on the car seat, she turned to Ed and said
“How long now?”
“Atlanta’s about a half hour drive now. Won’t be long so keep it shut” He ordered
Awhile past and it was getting hard to get into the city, there was to many people trying to get in and the road was just packed with cars. Hours past and It was night, I saw Carol talking to a brown haired woman, I stepped outside the car and Sophia followed me.
“Who is that?” I said as I turned to Sophia
“I don’t know” She shrugged her shoulders
“C’mon” I said as I walked over to Carol and the woman
The woman smiled at me and Sophia and said
“Are these your daughters?”
“Oh well this one is, this is my daughter Sophia, and this is Leah, a friend of Sophia’s” Carol smiled
“Oh it’s lovely to meet you to, my name is Lori” Lori smiled at us
“Hi” I smiled back
“Hello” Sophia said shyly
I saw a man walking up to Lori.
“Lori, Carl keeps asking if he can come out of the Car, is that okay?”
“Oh yeah that’s fine, tell him to come up here” Lori said
“Okay” The man said as he walked away
“Was that your husband?” Carol asked
“Oh uh.. no just a close friend… my husband.. didn’t make it” Lori said as she looked away
“Oh I’m so sorry I didn’t know” Carol apologised
“No it’s fine” Lori smiled
I then saw a small boy walk up and stand by Lori’s side.
“This is my son, Carl” Lori smiled
I smiled at Carl and said
“Hi, I’m Leah”
“Uh.. hey” Carl said unsurely
“He’s a little shy” Lori laughed
“This Is my daughter Sophia” Carol said as she looked at Carl
“Hi” Sophia said sweetly
“Hey..” Carl said
“Why don’t you kids talk okay?” Lori said as she and Carol walked away to talk
Me, Sophia and Carl stood there just awkwardly staring at each other… I tried to break the tension by talking
“Hah… moms are stupid like that huh..? Making us do things we really don’t want to..” I awkwardly laughed
“Yeah..” Carl said as he scratched the back of his head
“Yeah…” I mumbled
“Well.. uh, w-what do you guys think of all this…?” Sophia said
“It’s crazy…” Carl said
“Yeah, you’re right… crazy… unbelievable..” I said
“Yeah I-”
Sophia was cut off by explosions
“What is that?!” I said as I looked around
There was explosions in the sky and everything..
“Sophia?!” Carol screamed as she ran towards us
“Mom! What’s going on?!” Sophia said in an alarmed tone
“I don’t know, just you kids stay close to me” Carol said
That was the first day of all of that mess, we were sure that it would blow over in a few days… but after a few weeks I wasn’t sure. Me, Sophia, Carol, Ed, Lori, Shane and Carl ended up making a small group just outside of Atlanta with a few more survivors.

Merle: I liked him... he taught me how to shoot when i was with some of the group on a roof top in Atlanta, i wish he made it back with us..
