“Christa! Are you there?” Clementine yelled
No answer, I don’t think we were expecting one. I saw a yellow sign in the distance, “Stop at this sign Clem” I said
We got close enough to the sign to read it, the sign said, “You may encounter: Black bears, coyotes, mountain lions, poisonous snakes or other species. Beware of your surroundings.”
Me and Clementine looked at each other, “Are you freaking kidding me?!” I said
“Don’t worry…I think we’ll be alright.”
I hope so alright…we kept on walking and walking until we heard rustling in the brush, oh jeez… my first encounter with a mountain lion? A black bear? We walked on to see a dog.
“A...a coyote?” Clementine asked
“I… I don’t know, it resembles one but it’s wearing a collar, it could just be a normal house dog” I said
The dog started to growl at us both
“It’s okay boy, it’s okay…” Clementine said to the Dog, “So where are your owners? Are they around?”
“Well if they are, I hope they’re nice” I said
The dog pranced over to the brush, then looked back at us, as if we were to follow.
“What’s he doing?” I said
“I don’t know… we should follow him”
We followed the dog until we got to an open area, there was an old rusty broken down van and just… garbage everywhere. Hopefully there’s food here… maybe medical supplies too. We’re not that lucky though. We walked over to a log on the ground. “Here Leah, you should sit here and I can look for something to eat” Clementine said as she sat me down on the log

“Clementine it’s alright I want to help!”
“It’s fine, ah, here” Clementine walked passed me and picked up a frisbee on the floor and handed it to me, “You can play with the dog”
I took the toy from her and agreed. Clementine went rummaging through the van.
“Here boy!” I called, the dog ran to me, “Hm, let’s see your collar” I said, getting closer to him, his collar read the name ‘Sam’, “Well Sam, you wanna play catch?” I said, I threw the frisbee and he jumped up and caught it in his mouth and ran back to me with it, “Good boy!” I praised him and gave him a small pat on the head. I threw the frisbee once more and again Sam caught it and brought it back to me, “I bet you miss this… I sure do, I had a pup once, before all the bad stuff happened, he didn’t last too long” I sighed, “One more time, okay?” I threw the frisbee too high this time and Sam didn’t bother to look for it. “It was fun while it lasted”

“Oh my god. Thank you! Leah, I found a can!” Clementine cheered
“You did? What’s in it?” I asked
“I’m not sure, I just need to find something to open it with now”
Clementine looked around more, I saw Sam growl at the tree and started to bark angrily.
“Clementine what’s up with him?” I asked
“I don’t know…” Clementine said, walking to Sam, “What’s wrong, boy?” Clementine walked around the tree, “Oh…”
“What is it?” I asked
“It’s just a walker, it’s tied up”
Sam barked and growled more
“It’s okay, he’s dead”
Clementine picked up a branch from the tree and striked the walker in the head. It wasn’t dead though. She had to at least hit it two or three more times before it actually died. Clementine took the knife from its shoulder and wiped the blood on her pants. She walked over to me and sat next to me, Sam sat in front of us. Clementine took the knife and stabbed through the tin’s lid, carefully prying it open.
“Please don’t be bad…” I begged
The lid popped off and the can was holding beans. I smiled as I was actually excited to eat something. Clementine took a handful of beans and I did the same, stuffing them into my mouth. Sam looked up to us both, eager for some food. Showing sympathy Clementine said “I guess you must be hungry too” She took a handful of beans again and said “Here ya go”
Sam quickly snapped at Clementine’s hand, startling her a little she dropped the can, Sam started to eat from it.
“Hey you can’t have it all!” Clementine said, picking up the can
Sam gave a nasty growl as he pounced at Clementine, sinking his teeth into her arm forcefully pulling her from the log she hit the floor, he bit into her arm again. Clementine started to punch Sam’s face repeatedly.
“Clementine!” I screamed
I stood up and rushed to her, my foot hurt so freaking bad but I didn’t care. I grabbed onto the aggressive Sam’s collar, trying to pull him off of her. I didn’t succeed, I only fell back myself. Clementine managed to kick Sam off of her and he fell behind the log. I stood back up and helped Clementine stand, her arm was wrecked. The blood made my stomach twist and turn. We heard Sam whimper from behind the log, we walked towards him to see that he had been pierced by a metal frame in his hind leg and body.
“Oh god…” I sighed
I turned away as I couldn’t bear to see him struggle and whine in pain like that, “I’m sorry” Clementine sighed as she put him out of his misery.
I turned to Clementine who was on the edge of crying and she looked at the condition of her arm.
“Come on Clementine” I said, putting my arm around her shoulder again for support, I held her tight as we walked on.
I noticed Clementine started to gaze off, we stumbled towards a large rock and both of us just collapsed onto it. Clementine passed out as I rested my eyes. I woke up as soon as I heard the growls, two walkers were after us. I helped Clem up and we just didn’t have the energy to run, I tried to get her to safety but I just couldn’t run. The walker from behind us caught up and stumbled on top of us, I tripped up and landed on the floor while Clementine tried fighting off the walker on top of her. I couldn’t get up.
“Clem…”

Out of nowhere these two guys showed up, saved us both. One of the guys picked up Clementine, “Come on kid, we gotta get out of here” He said
The other man picked me up and held me with one arm as he was holding a crossbow with the other. I had my arms around his neck for support. They ran off into the forest, i wasn’t completely supported as I was being held up with one arm, my foot was killing me.
